Naomi sat for my three dogs and my cat for 2,5 months during the coldest and most snowy period in Sweden. She took excellent care of both pets, house and snow 😉
The dogs are all rescues with a variety of traumatic memories in their back pack and along with that different hang ups. One of them, Allan, has very special needs because of a handicap. He needs a stroller for his walks and he always has to be carried up the staircase. Naomi instantly connected with all of them and she treated them in the best possible way. It was obvious that they liked her very much and she liked them.
During my trip I never felt worried. Naomi took pics, wrote and told me about how they got on so I could follow their days. She always sticks to agreements and she is very organized. I trust her 110 percent, and in my opinion it can’t get any better. I recommend Naomi as a house sitter with all my heart.
This was my first experience with Trusted Housesitters and didn’t quite know what to expect. Finding Naomi was the best thing that could have happened! She is super-organised and reliable (if there were more star ratings I could fill in, I would), and made the whole process run smoothly. I left Maggie in her care totally confident that all would be ok. She has a lovely rapport with animals – in fact I think Maggie was a little disappointed when I got back!! The house was kept beautifully while I was away and I returned to a tidier house than when I left it, with clean bed linen (just what was needed after 24 hours of traveling). She also sent me little updates and photos of Maggie now and again which was comforting.
I cannot recommend Naomi highly enough! For those fortunate enough to secure her as their house/pet sitter, you will be able to go away confident that everything is in extremely safe hands.
Thank you Naomi!
Naomi stayed with our 1 dog, 6 cats, and 2 (outdoor) cats in our home in a small village in Italy for 6.5 weeks. We couldn’t have been happier with the experience, from our first communication to the evening that we said good-bye to her.
Naomi is organised and meticulously prepared; for our first Skype conversation she had thoroughly reviewed the requirements for the sit, knew all of the animals’ names and had detailed questions for us about the animals’ temperaments, schedules and feeding. When she arrived for the sit she bonded with our dog George immediately, and with the cats as they allowed themselves to become acquainted with her. While we were away she kept us up-to-date on goings-on in the house, sending lots of photos of the pets. Naomi also took good care of our garden cats, making sure they had access to shelter as the evenings got colder, and that they were well-fed.
She experimented with food for our dog (with our agreement) and came up with a cooked-food solution that is both easier for us to prepare and that he loves. When pet and household supplies ran out she restocked; she picked up packages at the post office and communicated about other mail. When the cash we left behind for necessities ran out she covered the gap from her own account until our return.
We also appreciate that she made the best effort to get a good deal on a rental car (which we reimbursed her for as part of the housesit).
Naomi communicated easily with our landlord (who does not speak English) when problems with our older house arose, and gamely dealt with his comings and goings as he repaired a plumbing issue over the course of 10 days or so.
We returned to a tidy, happy household. The day after she left our dog sat in front of the door to her bedroom for an hour or so. We take this as a sign that he enjoyed his time with her.
We recommend Naomi without reservations and would consider ourselves lucky to have her sit with our pets again.
This was our first encounter with a house sitter and initially I was naïve to think we would be getting local responses for the sit. I was surprised and apprehensive when I started to receive correspondence from all over the world. It was a daunting experience to think that someone was going to travel to my house, at their own expense from somewhere miles away from where we lived and actually turn up to sit at our little house for our two, quite different, beagles. This process was made so much easier when Naomi responded to our request to sit. We discovered that prior to our house sit, Naomi was sitting in a nearby suburb and there was a potential one day overlap with the dates between the two sits. Naomi was very keen to help work out a solution to enable her to sit for us. The more we conversed via email and then with a face to face over Skype I further realised that this was serious and there really were people out there that just wanted to help others, save some money and travel the world in the process. All I can say with regards to Naomi is how truly blessed we were that she found us. Naomi is a wonderful person who, in our opinion, far exceeded our expectations. Since we’ve all been totally spoiled by Naomi’s presence in our lives I imagine it will be difficult to find anyone quite like her to sit for us again. Thank you just doesn’t seem enough. Safe travels our friend.
Naomi housesit for us for one month while we were away in the UK, her attention to detail was second to none, when we returned from our trip everything was clean and tidy, the menagerie (32 parrots, 1 dog, 7 goldfish) were all well cared for, we have had 2 house sitters previously and Naomi is on another more professional level. My wife and I also house sit when able and can only hope we can attain her standards. Perhaps the best recommendation comes from the people on the oval where Naomi exercised our dog and that was she was always there with Peggy to play with the other dogs and was always happy to have a chat with other dog owners. In addition we have a large garden that I spend a lot of time in, when we got back it was neat and tidy. I would recommend Naomi to anyone wanting a professional house sitter.
Naomi cat/house sat for me for 3 months (April – June 2017) while I was overseas.
I cannot speak too highly of the service she provided. She kept the house clean and tidy, the garden watered and maintained, the car run and most importantly my cat Maisy happy and healthy. While away she kept me informed of mail that might need attention and averted a few problems in the house that a less conscientious or savvy person might have missed or ignored.
In my absence two serious problems occurred. Firstly the dishwasher broke down and Naomi efficiently set up the repair of this. Yet more serious was the fact that my neighbours submitted a development proposal in the middle of my overseas trip and Naomi went to considerable trouble to coordinate my correspondence with an architect then print and deliver my letter of objection to the council within the time limit.
I can confidently say that Naomi did a 1st rate job of looking after my property and pet and I am looking forward to welcoming her to my home again next year.
Naomi cared for our 3 dogs: German shepherd (Gypsy), Golden Retriever (Molly), and Boxer (Coppa). They loved her the minute she walked through the door. We were able to spend some time with her before we went on our trip and found her a delight. She gave us updates while we were away, for which we were very grateful. She was great with our kids (dogs), and we hope to have her in the future. We are giving her all 5 stars because that’s how we feel about her.
Naomi looked after the girls whilst I was away over Christmas ….. and didn’t they love it.
They were spoilt and loved the whole time and I do not think they missed me at all. Aunty Naomi made sure that they had their meals on time, had some chasey time with the ball in the backyard and even took Gin Gin to the vet at the first sign of trouble.
Thank you Naomi for taking care of my girls and my home allowing me to have time with my other little family.
Naomi is what I would call a kindred spirit with a keen desire to genuinely help someone. The girls and I both hope you will visit again.
I can highly recommend Naomi to anyone looking for a caring, reliable house sitter. Our two mini foxies adored her and still check the room to see if she has come back. We returned to a sparkling house, clean yard, fresh flowers and chocolates. I would be very happy to have Naomi housesit for us at any time.
Naomi looked after our small farmlet in Central Victoria, Australia over a three week period in October 2016. All of our animals bonded with her and she looked after them exceptionally well and took into consideration their special quirks to be indulged. Truman, one of the cats, HAS to sleep on a human bed at night. Vera, one of our dogs, must rest her head on your lap after you have finished dinner and plead with her puppy dogs eyes for any leftovers. Charlotte the cat will not tolerate sitting on your lap, but MUST go walking with the dogs at least daily. We left Naomi with a rough time schedule of how to manage the horses and the paddocks and she was thorough in taking notes on when paddocks were to be opened and closed off as it was the height of spring grasses and two of our horses are prone to laminitis.
Naomi kept in regular communication during our holiday and took plenty of photos of our animals and sent them to us. Any concerns she also communicated to us and were able to problem solve between all of us. We arrived home to happy animals, no signs of laminitis in our horses, a sparkling clean house, a vase of flowers and a lovely bottle of red wine. Truman, our grey stripey cat, has been mourning her absence and being her bed buddy! (We have previously gone on holidays and had a person check in on daily basis which never worked for our cats. We had arrived home to skittish, out of sorts cats that had meowed themselves hoarse. Never again! ) We look forward to be able to go on holidays and have Naomi look after our household. That means that we are now booking our holidays for 2018 already, just so we stand a chance of securing Naomi as our housesitter!
We cannot recommend Naomi as a housesitter (and as an awesome person in general) highly enough. She is responsible, level headed, very organised and a genuine animal lover. She keeps in regular communication during your holiday and sends updates on your animals. Just knowing that Naomi was looking after our animals was peace of mind for us.
Thank you so much everything, Naomi! We appreciate you looking after our family so attentively while we were away. You are an absolute star!
Naomi watched over our kitty for almost a month while we were away. She is a very self-sufficient and kind caregiver. She was communicative during both the selection process and the sit itself, as well as accommodating regarding the dates of her sit (we had several sitters over a three-month period, and Naomi came early and stayed late to make sure things were covered until our return). Naomi was very loving with our cat, Sweet Pea, and made sure she was content. She checked with us on several possible problems and was ready to take care of any issues that might arise. All in all, we were pleased with Naomi and her care and know she will provide reliable service to any of you seeking a sitter.
Naomi looked after our 2 Persian cats for 2 weeks recently and we were pleased to return to happy and contented pets – so much so that our furry friends were reluctant to come to see us on our return. Naomi had taken great care of our house and left it immaculate – washing done and everything tidied. She was kind enough to arrive a little before we left so we could go over a few things which was really helpful too. We would highly recommend Naomi as a dependable and reliable house/pet sitter and would welcome her back at any time.
Naomi was a great housesitter in all respects. She looked after the house and elderly cat for two weeks, all in perfect order when we got back. She was open and easy to make arrangements with about times and expectations. We met only once beforehand to discuss it and Naomi immediately put me in no doubt that she is responsible and trustworthy. Very tidy too. We’d certainly recommend her.
Vauxhall City Farm is a small charity that is home to over 150 animals and provides a chance for Londoners to meet farm animals face to face. It also provides opportunities, education and training for people in the local community and beyond. Vauxhall City Farm is open 5 days a week including weekends and is free access.
Naomi has volunteered at Vauxhall City Farm since March 2015. The volunteering duties included carrying out basic animal husbandry tasks, mucking out, cleaning, food and water as well as maintaining a safe and well kept farm environment.
Naomi Peters has been volunteering with us since March 2015 and has been hugely committed, helping both at the farm looking after the animals and interacting with visitors, at open days, where she has been running animal handling activities and craft activities for the kids as well as helping out at many of our mobile farms, where we take our animals, large and small out to schools, park events and fairs. I can highly recommend her to any future employer!
I have known Naomi for over 20 years as a fellow student, coworker, and friend. She is a reliable, responsible, mindful, and caring individual. Her communication skills are exemplary. When I was subletting in my elderly friend’s apartment in Manhattan, Naomi was one of few friends whom I trusted to stay there, even when I wasn’t there myself. From personal experience, I can highly recommend her as a “trusted housesitter.” She is also a great lover of animals and will be a terrific caregiver/companion for any pet!
